Legal expertise is often mobilized only after serious risks or harms have materialized. JUST builds the research, partnerships and capacity needed to clarify responsibilities, advance safeguards and pursue accountability at an earlier stage.
Technical research and new regulation are essential, but they are not the only routes to safer technology. Existing law already creates responsibilities and provides tools for action. Funding allows JUST to identify where those tools can make a practical difference and to pursue the strongest opportunities with independence and rigor.
